Our program draws inspiration from three innovative models throughout the country: SEED Academies, the Milton Hershey School, and The Greater Dayton School.
SEED Academies is a network of free public boarding schools across the country that focus on college readiness.
Milton Hershey School is a free private school that boards students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The Greater Dayton School is a tuition-free private school funded entirely by private donors; it defines its success in part by its students' determinations of their own success at age 27.
We recognize the impact chronic absenteeism has on students, and we know the research that links chronic absenteeism and poverty. To ensure students have regular access to high-quality educational programming, we will offer residential facilities for students who need them. Our program will be the first of its kind in the state and will remain tuition-free for all students.
Our mission is centered around families, not just kids. We want our students' parents and families to be supported while they entrust their children to our care. We will provide a true partnership with parents that keeps them involved in the education and success of their student and provides services and resource connections they need.
Students' basic needs will be taken care of while they are enrolled with us. This doesn't stop in the classroom. We will provide clothing, food, mental health services, structure and routine, extra-curricular experiences, and more for our kids. We want them to experience the world around them and will provide the means necessary for them to do so.
